THE STORY

It’s 2012 and, sick of greedy politicians, banking scandals and economic misery, the people have risen up to take down the corrupt – hoorah! Oh, wait, it’s still 2012, the worst offenders escaped and now a mysterious virus has spread, killing millions and turning others into flesh-hungry zombies – not so hoorah! Oh well, the moral victory was ours… Right, time to tool up and get slaughtering!

THE EXPERIENCE

Zombies seem to be a perpetual problem these days, with rarely a week going by that we don’t find ourselves enveloped in another undead uprising that requires a unique combination of cunning strategy and extreme violence to survive. Which is exactly the situation here – the recently alive are back on their feet and everywhere, turning what little remains of humanity into a running buffet. Fortunately, you happen to be armed to the teeth and not in the mood for their shuffling stiff shenanigans.

Played out in brilliant, detail-rich 3D graphics, you’re protecting the last stand of mankind in town, Safe Haven, and taking the skirmish to the stubbornly still-moving using an expansive arsenal of guns to get a head, explosives to empty any room, or basic blades to get hands on and take them piece by piece, if you’re feeling fruity.

THE BOTTOM LINE

With a suitably sinister soundtrack to set the mood, motion-capture characters to keep it real, evolving AI to ensure this no walk in the zombie-infested park, and options to follow the city saving storyline or go mad on unlimited random missions, Dead Trigger is exceptional zombie fragging fun with a gun. Go get ’em!
