Shadowgun

A solid Android shooter with some sumptuous 3D graphics

UPDATED 27/02/12 with video
Shadowgun is an immensely good looking space shooter for Android which moulds together a non-descript storyline and a lot of ammunition into something that’s as frivolous as it is fun. It’s basically Gears Of War ripped off for a Google smartphone but we don’t really care. read more

Sonic 4: Episode I

A short but sweet Android platformer which is undermined by some frustrating controls

Sonic 4: Episode I

With Sonic 4: Episode II due on the Android Market any moment now, it makes sense for Sega to unleash Episode I of the series onto your smartphone. Featuring some lush side-scrolling graphics, as well as the usual fast and furious gameplay, this app would stand amongst the best Android platformers if it weren’t so short-lived. read more

UPDATED 19/12/11 with video:
Riptide GP is one of the best, if not the best racing game we have ever played on an Android. Featuring a sumptuous set of 3D graphics, some sizzling gameplay and a hefty selection of courses to test your reflexes. To be clear, your smartphone needs this app! read more

Review by on the 10th October 2011

UPDATED 10/10/11 with video:
In the land of hackneyed truisms, it’s the early bird which catches the worm. In the land of Android, it’s the bird who is guided with the minimum amount of touchscreen strokes that catches his wriggling prey first. Following in a long line of physics-based arcade apps, Early Bird is well-executed enough to derive some serious longevity for casual and hardcore gamers alike. read more
