An Android-based, gesture recognition, set-top box that lets you turn any TV into smart-central? Where do we sign? Or, erm, wave?

This is the rather cool reality of the nTobeBox from Innodigital – a fast slice of innovative genius jointly developed between a Korea manufacturer and an Israel gest-rec company, resulting in a little black box capable of tricks that makes it possible to throw away the tired old remote and operate the goggle box using subtle hand gestures.

Running on Ice Cream Sandwich and powered by an A9 quad core processor, the nTobeBox was built using machine vision algorithms, as devised and developed by the gesture recognition experts at Israel’s eyeSight, and operates using a simple 2D camera. Wi-Fi-enabled for ease of use and 1080p HD support-packing for the best picture possible, the nTobeBox will mean you can access all your digital content with your digits, browse the internet with your index finger and download apps from Google Play with a Jedi-like wave of the hand. Mmm, strong are you with The Force!

Naturally, this ease of access will also assist when it comes to video calls and indulging in online gaming. However, with no word on price or availability yet, it seems we’ll have to wait just that little bit longer before Andy makes everything handy.
