Computer nerds! We love them here at L.O.A, largely because we too like to embrace our inner-geek, but now even more so since a recent poll held by that pinnacle of personal computer publishing, PC Advisor magazine, revealed that the OS system being used to unite the nerds of the world more than any other was – you guessed it – Android.
According to the poll a whopping 49% of respondents selected the open source OS as their favourite smartphone operating system, while only a surprisingly lean 26% went for Apple’s iPhone. In plucky third place with 17% was Windows Phone, while bringing up the rear like an ancient, all but abandoned asthmatic and failing to grab a podium place was BlackBerry, the OS of choice of just 6%. And, in case you were wondering, the missing 2% went to a category enigmatically labelled ‘other’. Yes, we can add up.
So, one in the ‘i’ there for Team Cupertino, another triumph for Android and, let’s face it, a savage slap in the face for Symbian – 2%? ‘Other’? Oh dear…
