Doctor Who has arrived on Android just in the nick of time to do battle with his archenemies the Cybermen, Daleks and Silurians.
Doctor Who: The Mazes Of Time is BBC Worldwide’s first app for Google’s smartphone OS. Originally developed by Scottish firm Tag Games, it has been converted from its iPhone and iPad incarnations which were released in December 2010.
The app is free to download and financed by a series of in-app purchases to extend the game beyond the lifespan of its initial smattering of free levels.
In a disappointing twist to this episode however, users on the Android Market have complained about the app’s compatibility across various smartphones. “I guess the graphics and stuff are cool but the game keeps foreclosing and instructions somewhat confusing,” commented a disappointed Budsakorn Belle. ”[I am a] Big Doctor Who fan but uninstalling app.”
Life Of Android gave Mazes of Time a spin across two Android handsets, only one of which would run the app. We recommend downloading this offering from the Android Market with low expectations.
