In case you haven’t yet heard due to all the fuss over the new iThing, Wednesday saw the breaking out of the bunting, the bursting of balloons and the over-consumption of cake at Mountain View, California, as Google celebrated reaching the massive milestone of 25 billion Android app downloads. 25 Billion!
Naturally, the generous Google-ites know full well who it was that helped them hit this amazing mark and, as such, are keen to spread the love to you, the intelligent OS chooser. To this end, for the next few days only the price of top apps have been trimmed to 25p, the best books pared to a piffling 99p, and the most wanted movies marked down to a penny less than a pound.
“Every day you’ll be able to choose from a collection of apps from some of the world’s top developers including Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, runtastic, Full Fat and more.” said Jamie Rosenberg, director of Android Digital Content. “We’ll also be offering some special collections like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top selling magazines, all at special prices.”
So, with more apps and entertainment options being added to the offer every day, now is the perfect opportunity to load up all your devices with apps aplenty and more ‘media’ than you can shake a smartphone at for next to no money. It’s time to head too Google Play and prepare to use the word ‘party’ as a verb!
