Another illuminating use for your Android now – have you ever looked at your lights at home and thought to yourself “Well, the fact that I can see is all well and good… but I just wish my bulbs had a bit more, you know, Wi-Fi?” No, you probably haven’t. But before you move on, dismissing my question as the insane ramblings of a tired mind, this is exactly what’s on offer from the GreenWave Reality Connected Lighting Solution; and it’s brilliant.
Essentially an environmentally friendly way to control whole-house lighting and thus save power, each LED bulb fits in a standard socket and, thanks to IPv6, also has its own IP address. This means that, once you’ve downloaded the app and plugged the diminutive GreenWave gateway box into your wireless router, you can name every bulb via your device and set about creating your own Smart Controls to do anything from simply remotely switching a single light on or off, or run programs that can turn on groups of lights automatically, say, at sundown to either save you the bother or, if away, make your house look occupied.
Capable of controlling up to 500 bulbs per box, the system is almost infinitely flexible, and of course, because the whole shebang is controlled via your Wi-Fi, you can change your settings at any time no matter where you are.
Now, look again at your lights – now do you wish they had a bit more Wi-Fi? Head here to get even more enlightened…
