It’s been a long time in the making, but finally Google has gone and done the decent thing for its army of Android aficionados and launched its very own blog. Some may now stand staggered that such a thing didn’t exist before, but with Google previously merely mentioning apps on its Mobile Blog and leaving further word to spread via some pretty fantastic third-party websites run by some equally pretty fantastic (and sexy) people, this is the open source OS’s first official foray into the blogosphere.
“A few months ago, we asked what content you wanted to see more of on the Google Mobile Blog, and the answer was quite clear: more Android!” says a post from the Google Mobile Blog Team in a moment where you can almost hear a colossal clang as a penny the size of a smaller African country drops. “We launched +Android on Google+ and now we’ve launched the Official Android Blog, a new place for you to find all the latest news from the Android team. Going forward, the new Android Blog will be a must-read for anyone interested in the latest news. Thanks for being such a great audience over the years.”
So, at last the Android-obsessed community has got its own official blog to follow… which is great. But then, when you’ve already got us here, hand carving news and reviews from the raw, rough-hewn Android ‘fact’ we excavate from the very coalface of the information mine using only our nails, do you actually need an official blog? Thought not…
