Pigging Great News from Rovio

The rumour has been doing the round since at least June, but finally on Tuesday the developers behind the monumentally successful array of foul-flinging Angry Birds apps made an announcement guaranteed to bring porcine smiles of delight to fans of the franchise everywhere: the pigs are to get their own game.

There are two sides to every story and whilst the pigs have always been portrayed as the egg stealing villains of the piece, finally, from September 27th, they’ll get to tell their take on the curly tale when Bad Piggies is released on Android.

“This innovative game turns the franchise on its head by letting the fans play as the pigs – with all new, never-before-seen gameplay – and not a slingshot in sight!” said Petri Jarvilehto, EVP Games at Rovio. “There’s a lot of empathy towards the lovable enemies from the Angry Birds games, and we’ve been constantly asked: what about the pigs’ side of the story?

“There’s so much more to these pigs than what is seen in the Angry Birds games, and Bad Piggies is the first glimpse into what’s going on in the imaginative and ingenious minds of the pigs.”

According to the stuff churning out of the rumour mill, akin to the Angry ones, this porkers point-of-view will see the varying pigs imbued with unique, individual abilities to assist them in their egg acquiring efforts, but other than that all details are under wraps… like pigs in blankets*.

We, like everyone else, will be counting down the 20 days till launch, but if you want even more of a taste-bud tantaliser of the treat to come right now, head here to Rovio’s teaser trailer.

*LOA would like to apologise for the low quality of this pun.

and catchy music. You have to alter the cannon’s power and trajectory to get the ball into the box after shooting the stars.
Sound simple? ….. try it – you may be surprised.
