Another week, another slew of Android apps reviewed. This past week we’ve seen Google’s redesigned Android Market app, Android named the top smartphone OS in no less than eight different countries, and we’ve told you how to avoid the dreaded phone hackers with our top tips for phone security. Now we’ve rounded up the top five Android apps reviewed this week. Enjoy…

Tapfish – Full review

We love fish. Ok, so they don’t do much, but give them a pinch of food a day and they’re happy as pigs in mud. Which is why we were so intrigued by Tapfish. All the enjoyment of owning and breeding fish with none of the expense and, if you forget to feed them for a day or so, they’ll live.

Backstab HD – Full review

Backstab puts you in the unenviable shoes of Henry Blake, once an officer in the Royal Navy, now a broken man with nothing left to live for… Except a spot of vengeance, of course… Fresh from incarceration, Henry sets out on something of a killing spree. Your job is to mitigate his blood lust and ensure that he spends his time a little more constructively than beheading noblemen, garroting ladies of the night, and stabbing soldiers through the neck – enjoyable as that may be.

Samurai II: Vengeance – Full review

You play Samurai II as Daisuke, a young gent on a quest for revenge, determined to track down his nemesis Orochi and, we dare say, do something a little unsavoury to him. It’s a manga-esque affair with a storyline that’s periodically told via cartoon strip.

Zombieville USA – Full review

The US has been invaded by Zombies and, as whichever character you choose, it’s your mission to rid the once quiet, suburban streets of the marauding hordes of undead with a variety of high-powered guns and weighty coshes. The ultimate aim? To cave in as many zombie heads as possible…

Diversion – Full review

Diversion is a platform game with a difference with a 3D, 3rd person camera that follows the action as you hurtle through levels, hurdling mines, jumping spikes, sliding down ramps and jumping gaping chasms.

And if that’s whet your appetite, why not check out more app reviews here
