The new Android Market app is tantalisingly close for UK Android users having begun its roll out yesterday in the US.
Designed for handsets using Android 2.2 FroYo and above, the bolstered Android Market app allows users to rent video from $1.99 and choose from a library of several million books to download.
As previously reported, the app also comes with a fresh facelift making it easier for consumers to check out recommended apps and find the best add-ons.
Unfortunately for us unlucky Brits, there’s no set release date for the improved Android Market app although it’s expected to land in Europe sometime in the next few months. That’s likely to be without the video rental feature which is being held back by ongoing licensing negotiations between Google and movie studios.
